Sterling Ranch's CitySafe system honored as a top 50 most innovative global project
Imagine you're driving down the street, and you notice that a LED beacon on every street light starts flashing - notifying you that a tornado touched down in the area moments ago. Or perhaps you're walking your dog, and a nearby speaker on a street light informs you that there's a dangerous situation developing several streets over. Or imagine you're a mayor or city manager who needs to quickly and efficiently communicate about a school issue, road closure, or some other news - and can do so via audio and visual notifications on street lights.
While these might sound like interesting, yet far-in-the-future smart city possibilities, I have good news for you. Sterling Ranch, in partnership with Denver-based LED Supply Co., is at the forefront of the "smart city" movement with its new lighting control and wireless mass notification system - also known as the CitySafe system. Even better, the CitySafe system was recently honored as one of the 50 most influential and innovative projects around the globe at the recent Smart Cities Connect conference and expo.
CitySafe's wirelessly controlled speaker provides audio notification, an LED RGBA beacon provides visual notification for specific events (e.g., Amber alert, severe weather), and an optional lighting component provides high quality LED illumination for secure street lights.
If you'd like more information about the CitySafe system and Smart Cities Connect award, be sure to check out this great press release from our friends at the Northwest Douglas County Economic Development Corporation. And a special thanks to Amy Sherman, President & CEO of the Northwest Douglas County EDC, for helping with this Roundup post!
The future is here Sterling Ranch - and I mean that literally, the future of smart city infrastructure is right here in Sterling Ranch! Congratulations to LED Supply Co. and Sterling Ranch for this amazing notification system.
