The inside scoop on trash & recycling

Here's what you need to know about trash & recycling in Sterling Ranch

After fielding a few questions this weekend about Sterling Ranch trash and recycling, I wanted to write a short article in the Roundup on trash and recycling rules.

First, your monthly CAB invoice includes fees for trash and recycling service. For example, the trash charge for one Focus' Sterling Ranch clients earlier this year was $12.40 each month (note that all fees are subject to change).

Trash and recycling is provided by ProDisposal Trash & Recycling.

Currently, trash pickup occurs every Monday, and recycling pickup occurs every other Monday. You'll need to place your bins outside by 7:00 AM on pickup days. According to the CAB Property Owner Handbook, you can put your containers out on the street or alleyway the evening prior to pick-up, but you'll need to return them to an appropriately screened location by the end of the pick-up day.

If you want to build a separate trash and recycling enclosure, you'll need CAB Design Review Committee approval. Trash and recycling enclosures will be considered based on size, height, color, relationship to size of lot, relationship to landscaping, and setbacks from property lines.
