Check out the progress on the new recreation center and pool! We included a number of pictures at the bottom of this post, so be sure to scroll down and check them out.
In case you're not familiar, Sterling Ranch's recreation center is under construction on the eastern edge of Providence Village. The facility will feature a large pool with a patio deck, a community exercise facility, locker rooms, party pavilions, and a second floor “Great Hall." All Sterling Ranch residents will have access to the facility.
View from the south. The hole for the pool is on the right side of the picture.
As you can see, the concrete for the pool hasn't been poured yet, though the hole has been dug. The amazing deck is up, many of the windows are in, and siding is going up.
So when will the facility be done? Knowing Douglas County permitting and timelines (for example, the average home in Sterling Ranch takes 8-12 months to go from dirt to completion), and seeing the progress to date, I do think it's possible the facility - including the pool - could be open later this year if we get good construction weather for the rest of the spring. This is just me speculating, so we'll update everyone once we have information.
If you'd like learn more about the recreation center, check out this Roundup post.

The exact location of the potential 2-story daycare would likely be the west end of the Sterling Center parking lot along Titan Road. Check out this Roundup article for more daycare news:
Last but not least, and speaking of schools, Douglas County School District is talking about re-drawing school boundaries - and Sterling Ranch is part of the discussion. We'll be posting an article updating everyone on the latest soon, but the school district is considering 29 (!) different boundary change scenarios.
Douglas County started formal action on the plan on March 4, so be sure to watch for our post soon. In the meantime, you can check out this post if you'd like to know when Sterling Ranch could get its own schools built:
