Eric & Monica
I love meeting new people in Sterling Ranch. We have so many lovely families, innovative civic and business leaders, and amazing neighbors working hard to turn Sterling Ranch into a next-generation, sustainable, 21st century community we can all be proud of. Our series “Meet your Sterling Ranch neighbors” is our way of showcasing some of these amazing leaders and neighbors.
One of Sterling Ranch’s wonderful neighbors – who also happens to be helping lead our community on many different fronts – is Monica Phillips. When she’s not spending time with her family, Monica’s heavily involved with the Residents Advisory Committee and the CAB. So without further ado, let me introduce you to your neighbors Monica and Eric and their family!
Can you tell us a little about yourselves?
Hello! We are Monica and Eric Phillips. We have two sons named Logan and Marshall, and a pup named Abby. We moved to Sterling Ranch from Alexandria, VA, but Monica is from Western NY, and Eric is from south of Pittsburgh, PA. We love cooking/baking, "porch sitting," bike riding, and getting to know our Sterling Ranch neighbors!
What led you to Sterling Ranch? What are you most excited about when it comes to Sterling Ranch?
It was a tough decision to leave Virginia because we lived in an incredible neighborhood, surrounded by a support system we had spent years building. We wanted to move to a place that we could help shape into the sort of place we came from; where we know and love our neighbors. Sterling Ranch has already exceeded our expectations and we love the community that is blossoming here. Monica is the Chair of the Residents Advisory Committee and in constant communication with our neighbors and the CAB leadership. We are working together as a team to grow Sterling Ranch into the vision we (the residents) had when we decided to move here.
Any advice/thoughts for people looking to buy a new home in Sterling Ranch?
If you can manage it, we highly recommend visiting your home and the neighborhood throughout your build process. Make sure to wave to your future neighbors...we promise to wave back! By the time you close on your house and move in, you will probably know a bunch of us! I think it helps moving to a new place when you know someone there already!
Thanks for chatting with the Roundup, Monica and Eric! When you see Monica and Eric out and about in Sterling Ranch, be sure to say hi.
